These are more than just Greeting Cards.
It’s a common approach to mass produce to create high volumes of items, I think it’s best to go the other direction. Hand made with attention to detail and care for the product, the experience of the person receiving a quality item that has taken time to create is meaningful. Using quality materials that echo the pride I take in my original artworks as an extension of giving the best I can to other people.
My philosophy adopts Japanese concepts:
Monozukuri – : the making of things, pride in craftmanship, attention to detail, quality & making an object properly.
Mottainai – : Not wasting the potential or value of something, making cards to be appreciated and not treated as disposable
My greeting cards feature high quality reproductions of my original paintings designed to be treasured long after they’ve been received.
Each card is personally printed by me using archival pigment inks on premium 220gsm matte cardstock. The envelopes are 120gsm thick printed all over the outside and also inside to enhance the receivers experience of the quality and attention to detail when opening the card. I also cut, fold and package every card and envelope myself here in Australia.
The artwork doesn’t stop at the front cover. Inside is a soft monochrome version of the painting that spans the entire centre spread, while the back features the artwork again with its title, medium, year of creation and my website.
They’re perfect for birthdays, thank you messages, celebrations, sympathy, simply keeping in touch or as a small print artwork in itself that can be framed for a mantle, desk or bookshelf etc.
